IBPS currently functions as an autonomous body that is mainly engaged in conducting IBPS PO and clerical exams for recruitment to clerical and officers’ posts in the banking sector. The IBPS PO Exam is conducted annually, in the fourth quarter of the year. Online Classes

The exams conducted by IBPS are as follows:
- IBPS PO/MT exam takes place for the recruitment of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees’ in the participating banks, which are national public sector banks.
- IBPS SO exam takes place for the recruitment of Specialist Officers, which are Scale-I officers in the national public sector banks.
- IBPS Clerk exam takes place for the recruitment of Specialist Officers, which are Scale-I officers in the national public sector banks.
- IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I exam takes place for the recruitment of Scale-I Officers in Regional Rural Banks, this post is equivalent to Probationary Officers post in National Public Sector Banks.
- IBPS RRB Office Assistant exam takes place for the recruitment of Office Assistant in Regional Rural Banks, this post is equivalent to Clerk post in National Public Sector Banks.
- IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II and Scale-III exam takes place for the recruitment of Scale-II and Scale-III Officers in Regional Rural Banks, the post of Officer Scale-II is equivalent to Specialist Officer post and Officer Scale-III post is equivalent to Senior Manager in National Public Sector Banks.
IBPS PO Eligibility
Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years, as on 1 August 2020.
Education Qualification: Graduation Degree from a recognised University, please note that in general for all banking exams 60% in graduation is the norm. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that one is a graduate on the day one registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
IBPS PO / MT Examination
POs are practically trained in various fields, like – Marketing, Accounting, Loans & Advances as well as Finance. They also handle customers, like issuing Cheque books, ATM cards, Demand Draft, etc. They supervise clerks and also look into loan processing.

a. IBPS PO Preliminary Examination

- The medium of examination: bilingual – English & Hindi.
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.

IBPS PO exam result is not just based on the overall cut off, but the section-wise cut off. Hence aspirant need to pay equal attention to each section while preparing for the IBPS PO exam.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both –Online Preliminary and Online Main examination) x -0.25 for every wrong answer.
C. IBPS PO Interview
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online Main Exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
