State Bank of India (SBI) Exams

SBI PO exams consists of three stages of exams a) prelims b) mains c) group discussion and interview about 19.75 candidates  appeared in 2019 in SBI PO.

SBI Exams are conducted to hire candidates for various posts like:

  • SBI Probationary Officer (PO)
  • SBI Clerk (Junior Associates)
  • SBI Specialist Cadre Officer (SCO/ SO)

About work and pay scale

  • In 2019, 19.75 lakh applications applied for 2000 posts (General posts 810)
  • To recruit Probationary Officers, State Bank of India (SBI) conducts SBI PO exam all over India who work in various branches of SBI in India as well as abroad.
  • POs are practically trained in various fields, like – Marketing, Accounting, Loans & Advances as well as Finance. They also handle customers, like issuing Cheque books, ATM cards, Demand Draft, etc. They supervise clerks and also look into loan processing.
  • SBI PO is one of the most coveted jobs in banking sector which offers lucrative salary as well as excellent career progression.
  • Presently, the starting basic pay is27,620/-(with 4 advance increments) in the scale of23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The total compensation per annum on CTC basis be a minimum of 8.20lacs and maximum of 13.08 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.

 

SBI PO Eligibility

Age: 21-30 years inclusive

Education: Graduation or appearing for final exams of graduate degree course.

a. SBI PO Preliminary Examination    Online Classes

  • Online, Objective Type, in Hindi/English
  • Objective test Marks: 100
  • Objective test Qs: 100
  • Objective test Time: 60 Minutes

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will be of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

b. SBI PO Mains Exam

  • Online, Objective Type and descriptive type, in Hindi/English
  • Objective test Marks: 200
  • Objective test Qs: 155
  • Objective test Time: 180 Minutes
  • Descriptive test Marks: 50
  • Descriptive test time: 30 minutes
  • Group Exercise: 20 marks
  • Interview: 30 marks

 

A) SBI PO Mains Objective Test:

The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

Negative Marking (both –Online Preliminary and Online Main examinations)

-0.25 (or -1/4) for every wrong answer

 

C) Group exercises and Interview

Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

Category wise merit list on the basis of the marks scored in the Main Examination selected for Group exercise & Interview.
