SBI Clerk Examination

SBI clerk exam has a triple selection process a)  prelims b) mains and c) language proficiency test. In 2019, 16.6 lakh applicants applied for 8000 posts in SBI clerk exam. There are total 8000 vacancies in clerks exam.

SBI clerk  is also called the Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales).

The local language proficiency test is conducted for candidates qualifying for the mains exam prior to joining the bank.

SBI Clerk Vacancies: Total 8000 (General 3447, EWS 790, SC 1214, ST 746, OBC 1803)

Gen -General Category; EWS –Economically Weaker Section; SC -Scheduled Caste, ST -Scheduled Tribe; OBC -Other Backward Classes;

SBI Clerk Pay Scales: The starting Basic Pay is Rs.13075/-(Rs11765/-plus two advance increments admissible to graduates)

The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai will be around Rs.26,000/-per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances at the current rate.

SBI Clerk Work: Dealing with the customers and addressing their bank related inquiries. Handling the operations on deposit counters and cash withdrawals. Marketing bank’s products and services, such as loans, deposits, schemes to customers.

 

SBI Clerk Eligibility

Age: 21-30 years inclusive

Education: Graduation or appearing for final exams of graduate degree course.

 

Selection Process

2. Mains + Language Proficiency Test

 

a. SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination   Online Classes

  • Online, Objective Type, in Hindi/English
  • Objective test Marks: 100
  • Objective test Qs: 100
  • Objective test Time: 60 Minutes

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will be of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

b. SBI Clerk Mains Exam

  • Online, Objective Type and descriptive type, in Hindi/English
  • Objective test Marks: 200
  • Objective test Qs: 155
  • Objective test Time: 180 Minutes
  • Descriptive test Marks: 50
  • Descriptive test time: 30 minutes
  • Group Exercise: 20 marks
  • Interview: 30 marks

A) Objective Test:

The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

Negative Marking (both –Online Preliminary and Online Main examinations)

-0.25 (or -1/4) for every wrong answer
